If you have semen in store with us and you wish to arrange us to send straws to a customer, please download the Semen Movement Order Form and return it to us so that we can arrange the delivery.

Storage Facility

Our fully licensed EU storage centre and domestic store are situated in Bovey Tracey in Devon. We store and distribute semen throughout Great Britain and regularly export semen globally, with direct shipping access to semen storage in countries such as the EU, USA, Canada, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. In addition, we regularly receive semen from all over the world, with all imports required to enter our EU licensed store.

Distribution

For customers in England, Scotland and Wales, we offer a wide range of delivery services depending on location and urgency. We process and dispatch the orders as quickly as possible, but they can take up to 14 days during peak periods.

Delivery Tariff

UK Sires offer FREE standard delivery and handling to UK Mainland (excl. Scottish Highlands and Islands and Isle of Wight) when purchasing 50 straws or more of semen from bulls being marketed by UK Sires. For all other orders, the following charges are applied:

England, Wales and Southern Scotland (including to Genus Towcester) - £55
England, Wales and Southern Scotland – URGENT - £80
Scottish Highlands and Islands - £90
Scottish Highlands and Islands – URGENT - £115
Isle of Wight - £70
Isle of Wight - URGENT - £95
Packing fee per bull - £19 per order

Collection of semen from a third party for return to UK Sires - £100 per collection
(This does not include onward travel if required. Requests for semen collection are arranged on a non-urgent basis and may exceed 14 days)

To retain EU Status - £75
(Provision of support documentation (IMC) for the transfer of EU stock to an approved UK storage facility - per certificate)

Support certificate for Bovine semen used to produce Bovine embryos (per certificate) - £75

Please be aware that semen is not insured when in transit as couriers will not insure perishable goods. All semen transported to the above areas is at the owner’s risk unless their own insurance arrangements are made

Urgent Delivery

In exceptional cases when you might require an delivery in a hurry, you can opt for our Urgent Delivery option. We aim to ship the order within 24hrs, if placed before 11am and you are in England, Wales or Scotland south of Inverness. We will do our utmost to ensure that you will get the semen within a few days.

This option costs £80 + Handling fee. If you have ordered at least 50 straws from UK Sires and require Urgent Delivery, you will be charged the difference between the Standard and Urgent Delivery services. NB Once the order has been processed, it will be dispatched on a next-day delivery service, but, due to occasional operational exceptions, this cannot be guaranteed.
