As with any business, our staff are a vital component. UK Sires has assembled a hugely experienced team at the Stud, many of whom have long careers in the cattle breeding sector. You can be assured that the care and health of the bulls on centre is our primary concern to ensure that the semen produced is of the highest quality and that ongoing investment in semen processing and handling technology results in the highest fertility results on-farm.
Charlotte Heavisides
Laboratory Manager
Charlotte has worked in the field of artificial reproduction and breeding for over 15 years. Prior to joining UK Sire Services, she worked in IVF clinics in the Harley Street district. She has now become a Bovine Reproductive Science specialist and has visited many AI centres internationally in addition to attending specialist conferences and training programmes.
Gaynor Cumming
Veterinary Surgeon
Supporting the work on the stud, in the laboratory and at the Store are two of the industry’s most experienced veterinary surgeons, Gaynor and Ian Cumming.
Gaynor has a wealth of experience having been involved cattle AI for over 20 years. In addition to supervising all aspects of semen production, processing and storage, she is responsible for ensuring that both the Stud and Store sites are run in accordance with all the relevant regulations.
Ian Cumming
Veterinary Surgeon
Supporting the work on the stud, in the laboratory and at the Store are two of the industry’s most experienced veterinary surgeons, Gaynor and Ian Cumming.
Ian has a background in bovine AI, embryo transfer, bovine IVF, PCR embryo sexing, semen sexing, bovine genomics and the drafting of new Export Health Certificates.
